What is Purposeful Leadership?
Leadership has been defined as the act of influencing others. This definition works well when describing a quality in an individual, but when a deeper understanding of leadership is sought the word becomes much more mysterious.
Why do so many people view some American presidents, such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and John F. Kennedy, as great leaders? What made them leaders? What about inspirational leaders, like Mohandas Gandhi and Mother Theresa? How were some of these inspirational leaders able to influence other leaders?

I can relate Purposeful Leadership as the old say “Lead by example” and “Practice what you preach” as we can see this was accomplished by inspirational leaders, like Mohandas Gandhi and Mother Theresa
As mentioned by someone else earlier in the semester, great leaders see ahead of others around them in the vision they have and are thus able to confidently convey it to others effectively. This in turn makes them stand out and draws attention to them as well as derives respect and a willingness to follow from the observers. The traits that the great leaders mentioned above exhibited inspired future upcoming leaders as they saw the successful results from the past and having a similar vision to bring a difference to the world around them, they emulated and modified these principles to carry out their own vision.
Simply stated, Purposeful Leadership is the act of transforming dreams to reality in a way that helps others. Another way of saying this is that Purposeful Leadership is a special form of Leadership that incorporates positive ethical values and is aimed at serving others.
