Here is a systematic way to find out:

Consider any two prominent politicians – say, one from the US Congress and one from the US Senate – perhaps one Republican and one Democrat. Compare what the say they stand for with what they actually vote for and promote. Investigate how they were first elected and then re-elected, the money they collected and spent to get elected, where it came from, and how those donors fared. Consider the lobbyists with whom the politicians associate and what money exchanges occur. Examine the committees they work on and what comes out of those committees, and who benefits. Compare their assets before they were elected with what they accumulate over the years, over and above what their salary would suggest.
Play the BrookMaster Leadership Coaching Game, emulating the choices you believe each of these politicians would make. Which of the six archetypes (leader, entrepreneur, manager, consultant, trustee and intellectual) do you expect them to be? What would you expect their ethical balance to be in terms of their Giver/Taker ratio? Compare what you expect with the results you actually obtain from BrookMaster.

Interesting results, Roy. I will use these in my talk tomorrow. PC
If Hilary is the Taker then I guess Bill must be the Giver. If no one has done Bill perhaps I will add him to my list to do.
Not necessarily so, Joshua. It will be a good idea to do a “run” on Bill Clinton. PC

I totally agree with the profile of Stevens, I DO NOT see Nancy Pelosi as a giver, I do not see any of the leaders in Congress as givers.
True leaders never serve in public office. George Washington was a natural leader among his men, for he owned both their respect and their affection. Robert E. Lee was another American who was a great leader of others, again because he owned their respect. http://mises.org/story/532
Leader must earn the respect. Do all the politicians have respect of the public?
we all know the answers to that question can be varied by each person.
Mohandas Gandhi did not hold a public office in India. PC
I would expect politicians to be leaders because; their purpose is to serve the people. Both politicians selected for review ran for the presidential position, and lost. Both politicians raised record amounts of money during their campaigns. 14453 lobbyists with $3.2B tempting the politicians, it is easy to see why they would add additional projects to spending bills. Creating jobs and spending money, in their district, gives rewards back to the people. The people return the favor by re-elect the candidate. I also expected the politician to be a taker.
The Brookmaster’s assessment, for both politicians, was a consultant and a taker. Since consultants perform action for their clients and are held accountable, it makes sense that they fall into this archetype category. The clients are the people they represent. If they do not perform up to the majority of the peoples’ expectations, they will be voted out of office
