Here is a systematic way to find out:

Consider any two prominent politicians – say, one from the US Congress and one from the US Senate – perhaps one Republican and one Democrat. Compare what the say they stand for with what they actually vote for and promote. Investigate how they were first elected and then re-elected, the money they collected and spent to get elected, where it came from, and how those donors fared. Consider the lobbyists with whom the politicians associate and what money exchanges occur. Examine the committees they work on and what comes out of those committees, and who benefits. Compare their assets before they were elected with what they accumulate over the years, over and above what their salary would suggest.
Play the BrookMaster Leadership Coaching Game, emulating the choices you believe each of these politicians would make. Which of the six archetypes (leader, entrepreneur, manager, consultant, trustee and intellectual) do you expect them to be? What would you expect their ethical balance to be in terms of their Giver/Taker ratio? Compare what you expect with the results you actually obtain from BrookMaster.
Now, go ahead and play !
I think it’s extremely rare to see politicians as givers, although they are supposed to be givers. We elect them to represent our views and listen to us and give back to us. To be honest with you, I don’t know any that are givers. Even if I compare it to any political party back home in the Czech Republic, I can’t come up with one single name. Truthfully, our politicians back home are ALL TAKERS for sure. In fact, they have a long way to be even close.

I wonder why are so many of you are taken up by HC? PC
I agree with Roy M. that very rarely do you see a true leader in a public office. I believe that the majority of all politicians are takers. Their sole motivation is to better themselves. They are self serving. While there may be a few exceptions to this rule, I feel that this is true for most of Washington D.C. politicians. Republican or Democratic doesn’t matter.
I agree also with Roy E. and disagree with Jimy’s Brookmaster results of Nancy Pelosi. I do not think she is a Giver.
I don’t see either Hillary or Bill as Givers and would consider them both to be takers. It is interesting to see that of those of you who did the Brookmaster on Hillary, what variety of results you all got. I wonder if a political persuasion plays into these results or if it has nothing to do with your choices in Brookmaster answers?
Why not play BM with these politicians, Nikki, and show us what you get? PC
Yes, I think it depends on each individual approach. If you have a favorite political party your candidate will do better in your result. That’s natural. We all favor either one side or the other one. Or, there are people that see politics as a dirty game where everybody is corrupted and looks out only for their own benefit.
Interesting observation, Mirek…the results posted by some do suggest such bias… and you get back what you put into BrookMaster… PC
