  2. The boat represents the action.
The oars represent the ethical balance.
The reflection represents the inner self.
And the fourth principle – “You are not alone. We are all in this together” is not directly represented in the painting with only one boat present, although we know there are more boats around us…

    Nice…PC

  3. I have chosen “Leadership is an Art” from Max De Pree for my book critique, because I’ve read some very positive reviews about the book and I really like the title of the book. It sounds very elegantly. In this book, the author lays out the goals and principles of leadership and explains how his leadership philosophy and management techniques have helped his company achieve improved morale and greater profits. Sounds interesting.

Your comparative review should be quite interesting. PC

  4. For the case study, I am selecting “Leadership on the Line” by Linsky and Heifetz. It was recommended to me by my manager late last year after we had a discussion on the contrasting differences between a Leader and a Manager. He suggested the book as “the best book to read to learn about leadership.” I believe this is will be a great opportunity to compare it to the four Principles.

No, I don’t see all of the Principles because the Forth Principle is “We are all in it together.” Unless an Enlighten traveler never travels alone, because there are others around in their own boats traveling in the same water.

This looks interesting, Margaux. I will share your review with the Construction Management class. Concur with your observation about the Fourth Principle. PC

  5. I have chosen “The Human Side of Project Leadership” by by Allen C. Amason et al.

It is a collection of academic studies related to the human side of project management, this book illuminates the ways in which leadership, project spirit and conflict management skills impact project success.

This should make for an interesting comparative review, Swathy. PC

  6. The book I have chosen is “The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader” by John C. Maxwell. This book, as its title suggests, gives dialogue concerning 21 qualities, or as we may say from class – attributes, of a leader. Maxwell describes the leadership archetype qualities from a Christian faith point of view and I thought this would be interesting to compare with Dr. Chopra’s Brook of Life concept.

I look forward to the comparative review, Chris! PC
